The Designer
As a member of the Utzon family of furriers, designers and architects Benedikte Utzon was born into and brought up with creativity.
Benedikte graduated from the Scandinavian Academy of International Fashion and Design in 1987. Since then she has worked for several leading Danish design and fashion companies, until she in 1995 established her own label.
Benedikte is a very visual and sensitive person. She wants everything to be beautiful. As a result her collections are always very sensual with clean, sometimes even raw lines. And when it comes to quality and fit, she never compromise.
There is a fantasy or a sentiment behind every piece of clothing. “I want to tell stories with my designs, because to me designs should not only be a piece of fabric with a number and a barcode. My dream is to be able to compliment every single of my items with a name, a story, a special wrapping and maybe even a scent. I want to surprise the woman who buys my designs, and give her an experience beyond the usual”, says Benedikte Utzon to describe her creative mission.
